Big girl bed

With baby #2 on it's way, we decided to move Leah out of her crib so that we could use the crib for the baby, and because as much as I'm in denial about it, Leah's not a baby anymore. I kept putting it off because Leah was sick, and then I got sick, and then we finally decided to pick a day and just do it. So Saturday, November 12th, we did it. We went to IHOP for breakfast after taking Leah to get her flu vaccine. Then Leah and I came home while Nick went to my parents to pick up a spare twin bed they had that they were giving us for Leah. I was really nervous about the whole thing and thought we were going to have a long adjustment period with it, but so far, so good. She's slept perfectly in it every night and still waits for me to come get her in the morning. She won't get out of her bed without asking. I'm sure that won't last forever, but I'll take it while I can :) Nap time has been a struggle, but it was in her crib too, and I'm honestly contemplating dropping her nap time (I know, crazy of me). But her sitting in her room screaming at me for 45mins doesn't really do either of us any good. I think I'll try a "quite time" where she can be in her room and play instead of napping, but she doesn't like to be alone, so not sure how that will go. Anyways, Leah loves her new bed and was even excited to be able to share her crib with the baby. I need to find/make some artwork to go on the empty wall above her bed, and then her big girl room will be complete. And I have to say, seeing the crib set up in the other bedroom made this whole baby thing a lot more real. In 5ish months, there will be two children living in this house. EEEEK :)

Don't be fooled, she's only pretending to sleep in this picture
