1/3 of the way done

So I'm 13 weeks along in my pregnancy now, which means just one more week left in the first trimester!  I'm also hoping that it means just one more week left of being sick.  I've been feeling a lot better as a whole, but not great.  It seems that I have traded in constant nausea for spontaneous throwing up, I'm not really sure at this point which is worse.  I still have no desire to eat and I'm never sure which foods are going to stay down.  Other than that, my energy has greatly improved and I no longer have to pee 4+ times during the night.

I thought that I would post a picture of what I look like now.  At this point I'm really not showing, but I'm having some difficulty fitting into my regular jeans.  I seem to be at the point where if I were a celebrity, the gossip magazines would be starting to spread rumors about my "baby bump".
We had our second doctors appointment today.  We weren't really sure what to expect with this appointment as far as what they would do.  We were hoping that they would check for the heartbeat, which they did.  It was really cool to be able to hear the heart beat since we only got to see it last time.   At first we couldn't really hear it because we didn't know what exactly we were listening for.  When we were able to hear it, it was really exciting.  It's nice to have those little reassurances every month that everything is going well.  Also, we think that we have quite the little gymnast on our hands, every so often when the doctor was listening for the heart, we would hear a little stutter in between the heartbeats, the doctor said that what we were hearing was the baby moving.  It almost sounded like it was doing little flips.  It will be interesting to see how much of a mover the baby is when I can start to feel it.  At this appointment they also told us my test results from last time and everything looks great.  The baby and I are both in great health. We have our next appointment in 4 weeks, it will be pretty much the same as this appointment; checking my weight, checking my blood pressure and listening for the heartbeat. Our appointment after that will be early January when I am about 21 weeks and we will be able to find out the sex of the baby, and then it's on to decorating the nursery!

Hearing the heartbeat for the first time is so exciting! I'm glad you're both doing well. Listening to the heartbeat and having the ultrasound all help make it feel more real that there really is a baby in there:). Hopefully the spontaneous throwing up stops soon.

I'm glad things are going well. Minus the getting sick part. You'll start almost living for those Dr. appointments. And that's good cause they start coming more frequently soon enough!
