Leah's Blessing

Leah had her baby blessing on Sunday August 2nd.  We were blessed to have friends and family there to share the experience with us.  Nick gave Leah a beautiful blessing.  We were nervous that she would be awake during the blessing and would start crying in the middle of it.  She did end up being awake, but just sucked on her fist and stared at all the people surrounding her, we were really impressed with how well she did.

In other news, Leah is keeping us entertained these days.  She is such a happy baby and smiles all the time now (however she still saves her biggest smiles for daddy), and Nick is now working on getting her to laugh.  She has an ocean themed Baby Einstein play mat.  It has an octopus that hangs down from it.  She will lay there and stare at it and squeal and kick her legs like crazy, I think she has made her first friend.  I've also found that hanging the octopus from her car seat makes car rides easier (she doesn't like being in her car seat much).

Other favorite things to do these days;

-Smiling and playing with daddy

-Cuddling and napping with mommy in the morning

-singing silly songs with grandpa strong 

  Example:  "Grandpa Time"- sung to the tune of MC Hammer's "Hammer Time" and replace the words hammer time, with grandpa time.

-Sucking on her fists

-Going shopping with mommy and grandma and being "ooed" and "aahed" over by other shoppers.

-Rolling onto her left side

-AND...... sleeping 7-8hrs at night!  We're so proud of our little sleeper, however, we're not fooling ourselves that it will last, but it has for about the last week, and we'll take it while we can!

We also had a friend of mine over the other day with her husband and son.  Jenny and I grew up across the street from each other and it was fun to be able to get together.
