New things in Leah's life

For a few days we had been noticing that Leah was acting a little different than usual.  She has been more restless in her sleep than usual, sounding really congested, and coughing.  She has also been drooling a lot and putting everything she can find in her mouth, as well as chewing on her tongue.  So after all that and 3 incidents of projectile vomiting (on me) we decided to take her in to the doctor to be checked out.  She had her ears and lungs checked and they both looked fine, but the doctor said that she was pretty congested and had a sore throat and a cold. She also told us that the drooling and chewing on things were signs that she could be in the early phases of teething.  What!?! She's only 3 months old!  So having her first cold and possibly starting teething, you would think that she would be really fussy and upset right?  Well she's actually been in a great mood, she's been smiling a ton and Nick even got her to laugh the other night! I never could have dreamed of a cuter sound!  We haven't been lucky enough to get her to do it again, but we know that soon enough she'll be laughing all the time.  And if Nick wasn't wrapped around her tiny little fingers before, he definitely is now!

So now we have a humidifier in her room, saline nose drops, and baby tylenol to keep her comfortable until she gets over her cold.  And the teething thing doesn't seem to be bother her too much for the time being.

Leah, my mom and I are heading out of town the second weekend of September to go to my cousins wedding in Utah, and we're super excited, so hopefully this teething thing won't be a problem for her first vacation!

Teething always seemed to knock us sideways....still does. Twice it has been on a drive home from Utah - thank goodness for Tylenol. And right now it's all four canines, so I'm up till 3 every night consoling my little hypochondriac. :)
Anyways. I'm so glad she's such a great baby. I can't wait to play with her!

What a sweetheart--she just seems so easy going and good-natured--like you guys are. I could use a baby like that next time--hoping for a girl--but not for Shad and Warren's sake--i think they'll find life quite unpleasant if James gets a baby girl--they just do something to their dads--I don't know what it is.

Just browsed the blog and she is oh so cute!! I just picture you guys as the sweetest little parents. That sounded cheesy, but you know what I mean. I still remember you guys coming over when Everett was brand new and we would pass him off to Nick and he was like, "um guys, help!". I bet he is over that now. Our babe should be coming soon...I will probably be induced thursday (as usual, why I can never go into labor on my own I do not know.)
