This past Saturday (the 12th), my beautiful cousin Nicki got married in the Salt Lake Temple. My mom, Leah and I went out for the weekend to celebrate with her. We don't get to see that side of the family very often, so it was exciting for Leah to be able to meet them all (Nicki has 5 younger brothers).
Leah did amazing on the trip. She slept most of the flight on the way there, and when she was awake, she was busy making friends with the man sitting behind me. The only problem was that her naps were somewhat interrupted because of all the wedding events. We got into Salt Lake on Friday, the 11th (yes, we flew on 9/11) around 11:30a. We then had to get our luggage, find where to pick up our rental car, install Leah's car seat and then find our hotel. At home, Leah would have already had a nap, longer then the 30 mins she had on the plane. After we settled into the hotel, we headed over to my grandparents house. There, Leah met my dad's parents, his older brother and his wife, their 6 kids, my dad's older sister, her husband, and 2 of their 4 kids. So after this weekend, Leah has met every member of the family with the exception of one of my cousin, and my brother.
Around 3, Leah was very overstimulated from the day and finally fell asleep at my grandparents house. Later that night we went to the rehearsal dinner and had some wonderful Lebanese food (Nicki's husbands family is from there). Leah was a trooper and had fun at the dinner. We headed back to the hotel and got Leah to bed around 7, because we had a really busy day planned on Saturday.
Saturday morning Leah got us up around 6. We had breakfast and got ready and headed over to the temple for the wedding and pictures. My mom attended the ceremony while Leah and I waited in the temple waiting room. Leah again took a 30 minute nap and then was a trooper posing for all the pictures after the ceremony. After pictures we took Leah back to the hotel to put her down for the nap before the reception that afternoon. Leah did really well at the reception. She seems to love going to party's, she's really interested in all the people and everything that is going on and was happy and content to be held by anyone and everyone at the reception.
Sunday was our last day, so we went to my grandparents house and to hang out with the family. We had a fun day and a great dinner for my grandma's birthday (the 13th).
We left Monday morning, when we were waiting at the gate I put Leah on the floor to stretch out before the flight, after a few minutes I looked down and she was on her stomach! This was the first time she has truly rolled over and I was so surprised! She fell asleep on my shoulder and again slept the majority of the flight. So overall it was a successful trip and I am so happy for Nicki and her new husband and that we were able to be there with them.
