2010

This post is really long, but I wanted to try to document our year :)
2010 was a really good year for us, it's kind of hard for me to believe that it's over. Here are some exciting things that have happened for us this year...

March 3rd Nick started his internship at Level 3.
Nick's office.

March 7th Nick and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary with a dinner at the Melting Pot.

March 19th my brother Casey came home after serving a 2 year mission for our church in Washington DC/Virginia.
In all the craziness and excitement, we didn't manage to get any pictures of us actually with Casey, so here is Leah and my dad waiting for him to arrive.

April 25th I traveled to Baltimore with my mom to be Matron of Honor in my cousin Megan's wedding. It was my first time being away from Leah for more then a night. She stayed home with Nick and stayed one night with my dad since Nick had school and work. She did a really good job and wasn't too mad at me when I got home :).

May 21st we celebrated Leah's first birthday. We had a party at the local park with many friends and family. I had a lesson in patience and learning that I can't control everything when the weather turned on us and we had a crazy wind storm that blew all my cute flower decorations away and popped all the balloons. But it turned out to be a wonderful day, Leah had so much fun seeing everyone and getting her first taste of cake!

June 30th we celebrated Nick's 27th birthday with a movie date (I don't remember what movie we saw :).

September 6th I turned 25. Again, I believe we went to a movie but I don't remember what it was :).

October 1-4 Leah and I flew with my parents to Utah to attend our church's General Conference. We had a fun time exploring Salt Lake with Leah. She got to play in the fountains at the Gateway mall and walk around and see Temple Square. It was her first time on a plane since she was 3 months old and she did really good sitting and playing.

On October 28th we drove up to Colorado Springs for my cousin Emily's wedding rehearsal. The wedding was on the 29th and I was one of her Matron's of Honor, and Leah was one of the flower girls. Leah did so good walking down the isle and made such a cute flower girl!

We celebrated Halloween at a church party. Leah and I were fairy's and Nick was Elmo. Nick was a hit with the three and under crowd. But our favorite costumes were our friends Emily, Don and Sam Conkey. They were the Fruit of the Loom.

Little Sammy wasn't too thrilled with his costume :)

On November 8th, Nick was hired on as a Finance Analyst at Level 3. Yay for cheaper health insurance and a job before even graduating from college!!

We celebrated Thanksgiving by going up to Nick's parents house along with my family. We had a good meal and Leah had fun seeing everyone and playing with his parents dogs.

We had a very fun and busy Christmas. I hosted an ornament exchange party with my friends Holly and Amy. It was really fun and we hope to make it an annual event. Leah was at such a great age to enjoy the holiday. She saw Santa at the mall, spent lots of time with family, enjoyed having Daddy home more often from school and work, and was SPOILED with presents from everyone.
Leah with the Incrediblock, one of her presents that I searched high and low for.

Some other fun things we've enjoyed this year: My parents being willing to take Leah for sleep-overs so Nick and I can go out to dinner and a movie. Having play dates with Leah's best friend Mikayla, they love to go to the mall, monkey business and story time at the library. Going on field trips for mommy to do peoples hair, Leah is such a good little assistant. Going swimming and to the zoo in the summer. A birthday party at the Butterfly Pavilion. I've also enjoyed reconnecting with some girls from high school who also have children. It's fun to see them again and to meet their babies. Nick's made a lot of new friends through his new job and has been invited to play in pool tournaments and has gone to a few Nuggets and Avalanche games with the guys in his department.
At Monkey Business with some friends and their daughters.

The Zoo with our friends Dan and Amy. (Leah is holding hands with their daughter Jaycee)

Leah and Mikayla. (Mikayla is 5 weeks older then Leah).
With Olivia and Eli at the Butterfly Pavilion for Olivia's 2nd birthday.

We celebrated the New Year at home, nothing exciting. We are sad to see this year go, but are excited about the things that 2011 will bring.

Some things we have to look forward to in the new year:
-Our 4th wedding anniversary in March.
-Leah's 2nd birthday in May.
-Nick graduating college.
-Maybe a graduation celebration trip :).
-My cousin Becca's wedding in September.
-Hopefully (cross your fingers) selling our condo and finding a home close by where Leah can have a back yard to run around in.
-And any other fun and surprising things that I'm sure are to come our way :)

We hope you all had a wonderful 2010, and here's to an even better 2011!
