So the tables have turned, Leah has been starting to favor Nick lately. She's fine with me during the day because I think she realizes I'm her only option. But when daddy gets home, she's happy to have nothing to do with me. I feel that this is worth documenting because she went through a brief phase where she would freak out if I was more then 2 feet away from her. And it's nice for her and Nick to be able to strengthen their bond. She's been waking up from her nap and saying "see daddy" and I have to do whatever I can to distract her before he gets home. Sometimes we even have to go out front just to make sure that he's not home yet.
A few other things that are worth mentioning. Leah's personality is growing and developing every day. She is learning and remembering more and sometimes it blows my mind the things she remembers. She can say her full name, except sometimes it comes out "Leah Franke Nicole" we're working on getting the order right :). She can count to 4 without assistance and will count to 10 with a little prompting. She got an Elmo for Christmas that sings the alphabet, and if I ask her to say her ABC's she says "ABCE HIK "ELMO P" QS ELMO P" So we're working on that, but I didn't even know she had picked up on any of it so I was pretty impressed, and she has the tune right too. She also knows all the words to 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star'. She is talking up a storm, she'll put together 5+ word sentences. She's also started to show some signs of the "terrible two's" but she's pretty easy to bring out of a tantrum because she's so easy to communicate with. The things that usually cause a tantrum are if we try to help her when she doesn't want help, or if we tell her no and she doesn't listen to us.
A few of my favorite words/phrases she says:
-"Eph-a-lent" (aka, Elephant)
-"Oh my goodness!" (This is what she says when she's really excited about something)
-"Silly Daddy" (obvious, especially if you know Nick)
- "Camwa" (Camera)
- "Oh good girl!" (when she does something she's proud of)
- "What's that!?" (everywhere we go she points at everything and wants to know what it is)
- "look at you!" (another one for when she's proud of herself)
-"Oh no, what happened!?" (when something falls or spills, etc.)
